When record-keeping depends on manual work
- Client bookings are entered manually.
- Payments and expenses have to be reconciled separately.
- Therapist calculations need careful attention.
- The owner needs a separate performance summary.
- Large numbers of transactions make errors and duplicates more likely.
The problem was not a missing spreadsheet, but the amount of manual work still happening around it.

Bookings are created through a clear form
The administrator enters the client, service, therapist and booking details through a form. One form creates the booking and, where needed, a client record and payment.
- Client: select or add new
- Date and time
- Service
- Therapist
- Additional discount
- Booking status
Payments are tracked separately from bookings
Each receipt or refund is a separate row, while salon purchases are entered separately as expenses. This keeps bookings and money accounted for.

Therapist calculations are generated automatically
The system records completed services and calculates metrics for each therapist over the selected period. There is no need to gather the data separately before calculating payouts.
- Number of services
- Service and shift minutes
- Utilisation
- Therapist earnings
- Period total
Gift certificates and packages stay accounted for
Gift certificates and packages are added through separate actions and tracked independently of an individual booking.
- Add gift certificate
- Add package
The financial picture is compiled automatically
For each working day, users can see completed bookings, money received, spending and profit without compiling a report manually.

No need to build a separate system from scratch
Google Sheets was a practical foundation for this task. We added forms, automated calculations and reporting on top of a familiar tool.
- Google Sheets
- Apps Script
- Forms
Where spreadsheets are sufficient, we do not add complexity with a separate application.
